Sharna Lee Baylis RAD RTS
Sharna started dancing as a young passionate student at the Tasmania Academy of Dance under the direction of Alison Gibson, there Sharna sat RAD ballet exams, toured the state competing in eisteddfods and partaking in Australian Ballet workshops.
At age 16 Sharna won a scholarship to move to Adelaide and commence full time dance training at the Sheila Laing Academy of Performing Arts under the direction of Ms Sheila Laing, Sharna continued to train in Classical Ballet and all other performing arts such as Contemporary, Flamenco and Lyrical styles.
In 2002 Sharna moved to Hobart where she joined the Tasmanian Classical Ballet Company, touring Sleeping Beauty and Indulge Your Senses under the direction of ballet master Hassan Sheta.
Sharna has performed for cabaret companies such as Six Pack Productions and Arch Entertainment in shows such as Manilow Magic.
Sharna was the co-founder of Dansatori a contemporary/cabaret company and staged shows for Short, Sweet and Dance, Sydney Fringe Festival, The Vault, ending the chapter with a sell out stage production of Pistol Whipped at the IPAC.
Teaching Classical Ballet has always held Sharna's heart and in 2007 Sharna completed the prestigious RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies under the mentorship of Ms Joanne Ansell, becoming a qaulified and registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance.
After teaching for incredible studios such as Ecole Classique, Ettinghausens, Northbridge Dance Studios, in 2009 Sharna opened her own studio in Crows Nest, The Centre of Dancing Excellence.
After a successful three years of preparing and executing RAD examinations, three full stage productions and eisteddfods Sharna stepped away from the studio to raise her three beautiful children.
At the start of 2022 Sharna opened a boutique studio in Unanderra that is home to Preschool dance classes such as her very popular Baby Ballerina Ballet class. Sharna also offers private dance coaching and choreography services from her beautifully fit out studio.
Sharna is a passionate teacher who promises to inspire, cherish and develop maximum success to all her students through effortless attention, assisting them to achieve their goals and aspirations in dance.
Sharna is currently offering freelance teaching services and in studio training for technique refinement, RAD ballet exam prep, classical coaching, choreography and dance extension.
